Russian minibuses "Gazelle" will help to solve the transport problems of Havana

Russia supplied to Cuba 450 “Gazel” minibuses to replenish the Havana public transport fleet. According to TASS, on 10 January, the solemn ceremony of handing over the first batch of minibuses took place in the port of the Cuban capital.

Last October, Russian specialists launched the assembly line for the production of GAZ and Ural cars in Cuba. At the same time, AvtoVAZ PJSC announced plans to supply several hundred cars to Cuba for use by the taxi service and the police.According to official data, more than 2.5 million people live in the Cuban capital, and more than 1 million passengers use public transport daily. In total, 720 buses run on 127 routes in Havana. There are no Metro, trams and trolley buses in the Cuban capital is, therefore, minibuses are the only  urban public transport.
