Ugra and the province of Homs outlined areas of cooperation

The Deputy Governor of Ugra Alexey Zabozlaev was held a working meeting with the delegation of Homs Province of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Representatives of regional authorities and business circles also took part in event. The General Secretary of the University Baas Mahmoud Hadid and the General Director of the industrial city Hasiya Bassam Mansur presented the province of Homs.

“I want to start by thanking for the invitation to participate in the second international youth scientific-practical forum “Oil Capital”. It was important for us to learn about new, modern technologies in the industrial sector, the development of deposits. The event was organized at the highest level. We will also participate in the third forum, ”said Mahmoud Hadid.

Let us recall that the agreement between the Government of Ugra and the administration of the  Homs province was sign in April 2018 on the implementation of international and foreign economic relations in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, humanitarian and social spheres was signed in April 2018.

The plan of measures for the implementation of the document provides for the creation in the Syrian province of a trade mission of the agricultural cooperative "Ermak-Agro". In this regard, Bassam Mansur assured the Ugra side that the authorities are currently engaged in the selection of a convenient land plot for the construction of the facility.

During the meeting, Mahmoud Hadid also proposed to establish an exchange of students. So, in 2019, a summer internship will be organized at the University of Baas for students from several foreign countries, including India and China. In total, the university is preparing to accept about 200 students. “In this regard, I propose to send Ugra students to our summer internship, as we also have faculties with similar areas of education. The practice will take from 1 to 3 weeks,” said Mahmoud Hadid.

In late August - early September, an exhibition of innovative projects of young inventors is planned in the province of Homs. In this regard, Mahmoud Hadid invited a delegation from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra to participate in this major international event.
